Harati is a 'Yaksheni', one of those benevolent spirits connected with the fecundity of the Earth. In those far off times when the Buddha lived, Harati's love for children spilled beyond the bounds of her own family and caused her to kidnap the children of the Kathmandu Valley whom she spirited away to a secret Garden of Delight and told them wondrous tales.

The resort is ideally located right at the centre of the Lakeside in an area called Gaurighat, the only stretch of the Lakeside enjoying a full vies of the Lake as well as the Himalayas.
Each of our 47 rooms is housed in a two story cottage with en-suite bathroom and a private veran da overlooking the inner courtyard and the landscaped gardens with water features. Each cottage design reflects the rustic style of the Western Himalayan architecture featuring stone niches and traditional interiors with modern comforts.
Temple Tree has two restaurants: the Bay Leaf located on the ground floor and The Tree House on the first floor.
