Ambassador Garden Home

This hotel in the Nepalese capital offers affordable prices, as well as a convenient location. Situated in the heart of the tourist district of Thamel, you are never far from restaurants or shops. Visit the King's Palace, Swayambhu- the most revered Buddhist stupa in Nepal, and because you are in Thamel you can't miss the Thamel Chowk, with its countless restaurants and shops. At the hotel, guests enjoy complimentary wireless internet access, fruits and tea/coffee. The Ambassador Garden Home makes for an excellent choice to stay in the tourist district of Kathmandu.
The Hotel was immensely welcoming and we ended up staying there on 2 separate occasions. The rooms are clean and you are welcomed with drinks, a fruit basket in your room and 2 bottles of water everyday for you to drink. We had and excellent stay in room 401 but unfortunately (we realised far to late in the night to change rooms) room 101 is a bit of a disaster!! There are holes in the walls (1 outside and 1 to the stairwell) which cause mosquitoes to come into the room and attack you. We were bitten all over even after rubbing DEET on and the hole into the stairwell means its very noisy all night. When we mentioned these problems in the morning no apology was given or reason for these holes to be there (and uncovered) we were only asked if we used deet to keep them away!!! This we found very disappointing considering the service we received last time we visited.
